I’m a certified weight loss and life coach, loving life at my happy weight!
I chose to become a vegetarian years ago when I was still in high school. That’s also when my yo-yo weight loss started. I didn’t understand how to have healthy vegetarian habits, and back then, there weren’t a lot of options.
Like many people, I thought that a plant-based pattern of eating would protect me from weight gain. But it really depends on what you eat. Bread. Pasta. Sweets. Alcohol. There are so many foods that don’t keep us feeling full for long, aren’t low in calories, and are oh-so-easy to overindulge in.
And so, it began.
Gaining. Losing. Gaining.
More times than I care to remember.
I lost my first 25 pounds following the potato diet: A potato for breakfast, one for lunch, and another for dinner. Oh, and a tablespoon of sour cream with each! Of course, I lost weight, but it wasn’t sustainable. Not even close.
From one fad diet to the next, I was looking for answers in all the wrong places!
